Overwolf, the guild for in-game creators, has released an innovative tool for mod creators to use in games like Minecraft, World of Warcraft, and more - the CurseForge API. The software lets modders distribute their mods directly through the internet. It also provides a load more possibilities for gaming communities to share their content online.

This new system gives creators to have more control over their work, especially in relation to third-party distribution of their creations. Authors can now give consent over whether they want to allow distribution outside of the CurseForge system, giving them to control the way their content is distributed and to protect the monetisation of their mods using the Authors Rewards Points system.

Modders are not the only ones that can benefit from the CurseForge API. The new terms and service agreement will open up a wide range of possibilities for users who access the system. This includes mod managers, discord bots, and other gaming community projects, which will allow the system to grow and assist gamers in new ways.

CurseForge API already approves 217 applications which include 42 bots as well as 25 analytics tools. There are also nine general modding tools as well as 11 modpack creation tools. As more users get familiarize themselves with the platform, this number of applications will continue to grow exponentially. If you'd like to apply to use the platform you can apply here. One of the most well-known Minecraft mods on CurseForge is RLCraft, a modpack designed to bring a hardcore semi-realism survival challenge to the game.

The Pixelmon Mod transforms Minecraft into an authentic Pokemon-like, monster-catching experience. This pack adds capture, battle and more, using mods created by users.
