I will admit that I gave all the others half-assed tries however although I grew up within the age of DOS I do not like applications and not using a GUI. McLawl crashes on a regular basis for me and I can't work out how to use it properly so I gave up. After making an attempt all the opposite software on that site I finally tried fcraft and, bam, on the spot like. games I can easily load any map file I need into the worlds section by the settings program AND, the reason I had to search for other server software program to start with is that I made a huge (for my computer) map 384x320x384 in omen and the default minecraft server program kept kicking me with the message "Hack Detected: Too much Lag" I played the server from fCraft for about 3-4 hours final night with no problems in any way. Very stable, straightforward to use, appears to have a lot of configurable options. I'd definitely suggest fCraft over the others especially if you're a novice like me.
