It's been a few months since we first heard about Minecraft Earth, the augmented virtual reality version of Mojang's game that makes the real world a playscape packed with your blocky creations. It promised a beta release of the game would arrive in the summer of this year. Now it's here, along with a new trailer, the company says it will launch on iOS within the next two weeks and Android following "soon thereafter."

The iOS-first launch shouldn't be too surprising since we first got a peek at live gameplay during WWDC last month. The trailer offers more information about the game. However, it's worth checking out the Apple demo to check the game's features and if you have any queries.

To be one of the first players to have access, you'll need to sign up for the free game right here (you'll require a device running at minimum iOS 10 or Android 7 to participate, according to the FAQ). Access is restricted as they build the game's servers but you'll need to be active to stay in the game. If you do not play for seven days then someone else will be given the slot. To sign up, you'll require an Microsoft or Xbox Live account. Once you have signed up you have nothing to do other than to wait and build.
