We haven't heard much about Minecraft Earth in a while. It's an augmented reality version Mojang's game that turns the real world into a playground of your blocky creations. The company promised that a beta version of the game would be available in the summer. Now, with a brand new trailer for the game, the company has announced that it will be available on iOS within the next two weeks. Android will follow "soon thereafter."

After seeing live gameplay at WWDC last month, the launch of iOS-first shouldn't be too surprising. While the new trailer offers plenty of information about the game's gameplay those interested may be interested in revisiting the Apple demo to get more feel for what it will be like to share the virtual Minecraft world with their friends, which overlays the real one.

To be among the first players to gain access, you'll have to sign to play the game for free right here (you'll require a device running at least iOS 10 or Android 7 to play, as per the FAQ). The game's access is limited because they are adjusting load to servers. However you must be logged in to remain in it. If you aren't playing for seven consecutive days, someone else will get your slot. You'll require an account on Microsoft or Xbox Live account to register, but once you've signed up there's nothing else to do except wait, and then get ready to build.
