The Minecraft Earth Beta Starts Its Global Takeover This Month

It's been a couple of months since we first learned about Minecraft Earth, the augmented reality version of Mojang's game that makes the real world a playground filled with your own blocksy creations. The company said that a beta version of the game would be available this summer. Now, along with a new trailer of the game, the company claims it will launch on iOS in the next two weeks. Android will follow "soon following that."



After seeing live gameplay during WWDC last month, the release of iOS-first shouldn't be too surprising. The trailer provides more information about the game. It's still worth checking out the Apple demo to find out if you have any questions.



You will need to sign up here for the game for free. Minecraft servers According to the FAQ, your device must be running iOS 10 or Android 7. Access is restricted as they build load on the game's servers but you'll need to be active to stay in it -- if you don't play for seven days then another player will be given your slot. You'll need an account on Microsoft or Xbox Live account to register after which once you've signed up , there's nothing to do other than wait and prepare to build.
